Monkey World can use many things to help make life for the primates better and more rewarding. Sheets and blankets are always welcome. They help keep them warm and also are used to keep themselves amused. Its great to see!! Monkey World asks that you do not sent duvets (the stuffing can get eaten and cause medical problems) also crocheted items can cause problems with trapped limbs.
Plastic drinks bottles are used to provide treats. The bottles are filled with all sorts such as yoghurt and seeds and it makes the primates work a little harder for the treats, as they would in the wild. Other plastic containers are also used as long as they are clean.
Strong dog toys (Kongs) are also filled with treats.
Online supermarkets will deliver to Monkey World. Monkey World prefer low fat, low sugar items. Yoghurts, cereal bars, dog biscuits (non meaty), raisins, bagels (Sally loves them). If you are taking any donations to the park, always hand them in to a member of the primate care staff. They can be handed in at the main entrance.
One thing you must never be tempted to do is take food in and feed it to the primates. You will be kicked out!!! They have specialized diets.
What sort of things have you donated?
